WAYNESBURG UNIVERSITY
RESIDENCE HALLS COMPLEX RECOGNIZED
AS "OUTSTANDING" BY ASU
The new Residence Halls Complex at Waynesburg University has been honored as an “ Outstanding Building ” project and included in American Schools and University’s annual Architectural Portfolio... the premier showcase celebrating the best in educational facility design. The project was designed by Valentour English Bodnar & Howell, Registered Architects.
The three-building residence complex, completed in 2004, has received very positive reviews from students and has been filled to capacity since it opened. The design introduced a new housing concept on the campus that blends components of apartment-style buildings with more traditional student housing elements. The facility provides residents with a balance of personal and shared space within each room.
The complex occupies a prominent site on campus that overlooks the central quadrangle.
The success of the complex prompted the design for a fourth Residence Hall building, now under construction and scheduled to be completed for the fall 2005 term. VEB&H Architects has designed eight new buildings on the Waynesburg Campus since the mid 1990’s, including a residence hall building currently under construction, and the three-building residence halls complex. The Stover Campus Center was opened in 1998 and the Performing Arts Center was completed in 1996. (back)
