SHARON REGIONAL HEALTH SYSTEM
EXPANDS CANCER CARE CENTER
The expansion of the Sharon Regional Health System’s Cancer Care Center in Hermitage, PA is moving forward with the final phase of construction that is adding nearly 5,000 sq. ft. to the Center. An initial phase of construction added a new Linear Accelerator that will utilize the expanded area now under construction as support space. The multi-phase project was designed by VEBH Architects.
Included in the addition will be a reception and waiting area; new exam rooms; physician and staff offices; and other facilities for the Center’s Radiation Therapy department. The project was designed to meet the needs of a growing cancer care program at Sharon Regional. The expanded Cancer Care Center was designed to serve both its large outpatient volume and patients transported from the main hospital for treatment.
The design carefully integrates the new facilities with the existing spaces and was planned to be under construction while the Cancer Care Center continues to serve patients.
The Sharon Regional Health System serves northwest Pennsylvania and northeast Ohio from its 241-bed main Hospital in Sharon, PA and 17 satellite facilities in and around Mercer County, PA.
