MASTER BUILDERS' ASSOCIATION

RECOGNIZES VEBH DESIGNED PROJECT

The VEBH designed addition to the Charles L. & Rose Sweeney Melenyzer Pavilion at Monongahela Valley Hospital has received an Honorable Mention from the Master Builders’ Association in Western Pennsylvania.  The project’s General Contractor, Volpatt Construction Corporation was recognized for successfully addressing the challenges of the project.

The two-story vertical addition to atop a three-story building was completed on an accelerated schedule while the facility remained fully functional.  The addition contains an expanded Regional Cancer Center and the Hospital’s Central Laboratory.

Each year The Master Builders’ Association recognizes the best construction in Western Pennsylvania through its Building Excellence Awards.  In recent years another VEBH designed project, the Stover Campus Center at Waynesburg College received the top award from the Association for projects with a construction value under $5 million.
