HAMPTON TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY CENTER
OPENS
Hampton Township has opened its new Community Center.
The project was completed on time and under budget.
The new building contains a double gymnasium, various fitness and activity rooms, and space for the community library. A Great Room with seating for 200 offers a more formal space for community events. Separate youth and seniors lounges, a tot watch area, and activity rooms provide spaces for residents of all ages.
The building is very neatly organized around a central hub where access to the facility is controlled and activities are monitored from a service desk. The central gathering area is accented by a cozy seating area that features a fire place and provides direct access to an outdoor patio.
The Center is located within Hampton Community Park. It takes advantage of a high profile location that overlooks recreational fields and the community pool.
Programming and scope development began late in 2001 as part of a feasibility study. A final budget and scope were defined in April 2003 which was followed by formal design and construction.
Larsen Architects of Lakewood Ohio acted as the Design Architect bringing their expertise in the design of community center facilities to the project team. (back)
