
NEW CONNELLSVILLE READINESS
CENTER COMPLETED
The Pennsylvania Army National Guard has opened its new multi-purpose Readiness Center in Connellsville, PA. The 23,000 sq. ft. facility contains training, storage and offices spaces. It was designed by Valentour English Bodnar & Howell, Registered Architects.
The design for the new Readiness Center utilizes a 5,200 sq. ft. Assembly Hall as a hub for a variety of administrative, training, support and storage components around its perimeter. The Center contains an M-1Abrams tank simulator as well as maintenance training facilities for the vehicle.
The Center supports nearly 100 soldiers of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard’s Company B and the Headquarters Company, both of the 1st Battalion, 103rd Armor, 28th Infantry Division (Mechanized). It will also provides facilities that are available to the local Connellsville community for meetings and other events.
The Readiness Center project was designed and constructed under the direction of the Pennsylvania Department of General Services. (back)
