THE BROWNSON HOUSE AND CITY OF WASHINGTON

OPEN THE VERNON C. NEAL SPORTSPLEX

The Vernon C. Neal Sportsplex has opened in Washington Park to provide the City of Washington with a multi-purpose indoor recreational facility.

The Sportsplex features a permanent synthetic turf surface within an enclosed 'rink' that accommodates indoor soccer, lacrosse, flag football, and other recreational activities.  Portable floor surfaces will be used seasonally to expand the use of the facility for dek hockey and in-line skating.

Other amenities at the Sportsplex include full shower facilities, spectator seating, a concession area, and community meeting room.

The project was developed by The Brownson House and the City of Washington.  The Brownson House will operate the Sportsplex.  (back)
