ALLE-KISKI MEDICAL CENTER
COMPLETES EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
EXPANSION
The last of seven construction phases that expanded the Alle-Kiski Medical Center’s Emergency Department is now complete and the Alle-Kiski community is being served by a modern, efficient facility that is capable of handling the 100+ visits to the Department each day.
The project, the largest undertaken by the Alle-Kiski Medical Center in more than 23 years, more than doubled the size of the Emergency Department and increased the number of exam / treatment rooms from 12 to 24, including five fast-track rooms. The design effort focused on enhancing patient privacy while implementing design elements to improve workflow, visibility and patient access within the department and adjacent areas of the Hospital.
The project also included a new main entrance and lobby for the Hospital.
The expansion was constructed in multiple phases to maintain the operation of the facility throughout construction.
Alle-Kiski Medical Center is a part of the West Penn Allegheny Health System serving the Alle-Kiski Valley in the northeast suburbs of Pittsburgh.
