NEW LONG-TERM ACUTE CARE CENTER
FOR LIFECARE HOSPITALS OF PITTSBURGH
STARTS CONSTRUCTION AT ALLEGHENY
GENERAL HOSPITAL SUBURBAN CAMPUS
Valentour English Bodnar & Howell, Registered Architects has designed Lifecare Hospitals of Pittsburgh's new Long-term Acute Care Center. The Center occupies 25,000 sq. ft. of leased space within Allegheny General Hospital, Suburban Campus.
The 41-bed Center functions as a ‘hospital within a hospital’, at AGH, Suburban Campus. It is operated by Lifecare Hospitals to serve patients in a medically stable condition, but still requiring observation and care. Acute Care facilities often serve as a transitional setting between a hospital stay and a patient’s trip home or to a skilled nursing setting.
Lifecare Hospitals of Pittsburgh operates a 155-bed Acute Care Hospital in Wilkinsburg and a similar 35-bed “hospital within a hospital” facility within The Medical Center, Beaver. Lifecare operates 21 Acute Care facilities across the nation. (back)
