District-Wide Buildings Expansion

Growing communities need school buildings to grow with them. When a community’s success results in population growth projections across a range of school-aged children, the expansion of multiple school buildings is required.

An update for a master plan for the Chartiers Valley School District identified educational and spatial needs at each of its facilities. Classroom additions for its three school buildings represented an ambitious undertaking to prepare the District for projected growth. Classroom additions were designed for the Chartiers Valley’s Primary Center and Intermediate School. An auxiliary gymnasium was also added to the Primary Center. At Chartiers Valley Middle School / High School a classroom and athletic building addition created new classrooms and a modern locker room facility to support the stadium. The new spaces were connected to the existing building with a multi-purpose atrium space that serves as a grand lobby for athletic events and a cyber-lounge for students during the school day.
